Storm surge fears, but no flood warnings where I am. There was a really high tide yesterday and the bank was more flooded than I've seen it before for a short period.

That meant the heron had a feast on all the rats mice and voles that were swimming around on the flooded ground. They spend several hours sitting doing nought... then they go to the water and in that one's case pick food up like from a dinner plate. Then its another 20 odd or whatever hours a day sitting... kinda like how we would live if people were happy not owning big TVs... and working endless hours to pay the mortgage etc...

Eating rats out of flood water?

You have an odd idea about simple life utopian living.

Been snowing here, lightly and almost continuously since about 4pm yesterday. Not settling, thankfully. It's bloody cold here though.
