You don't have to be precious about Queen (as many Queen fans seem to be - and I'm not a fan) to know an abomination when you hear it.

Anyone care to defend this utter shit?  The backing music sounds exactly the same as Queens' Bohemian Rhapsody and probably is.  What does he add to it other than lame vocals and long and numerous breaks for audience participation.  Probably because he couldn't carry those parts of the song off.

Abysmal

overhead lighting system was the highlight & it reminded me a bit of old queen lighting - perhaps the reason he did the bohemian rhapsody attempt?

When did you ever expect anything of any artisitic merit to arise from Glastonbury, ever?
Al come on good socialist that yu are and all that and you get perturbed by some performance at glasto?

Didn't you know glasto is for the middle glasses who pay lip service to their alleged values?
Or otherwise act all pretensious like, man.
There is no politics there. There is no artisitic merit. There is just fashion.

Apparently I was told about 32 years ago you couldn't even have a decent trip because of the emf radiations from the pylons reaping the landowowner

At least it was not performed and broadcast paid for by taxpayers.
I'll do you the worst cover version ever of anything and post it for you on youtube anyday.
Nothing personal Matt.

The op is erroneous in their question. It needed validating.

Oh dear, that old chestnut.  Well, if you can see past the tiresome debate over the licence fee...

Not particularly perturbed, just amazed at the work of the man who has such a high regard for himself.  Glasto is what it is.  Nothing wrong with bringing  hip hop into it nor having big commercial acts, if that's what the audience want - although I can appreciate why some have reservations.  Just that this is well, shit, isn't it?  It opens with what sounds exactly like Queen's music, no attempt to artistically interpret the music, he sings a bit (badly) he breaks off numerous times for the audience to do his job for him.

Personally, I'm more than happy for the BBC to spend tax payers' money on covering Glasto, they don't do much for the young and not so young music fans and there's plenty of stuff for other demographics especially people who like those boring a-holes, Torode and Wallace, and their endless cake making series.  "Glasto" is an event and some of the music is even good!  Certainly a lot more entertaining than that boring, fawning shit they put on last Saturday, the Trooping the Colour.

As for Kanye, I'm not familiar with his music but have no aversion to it.  It's just passed me by.  I quite like that "gold digger" one he did ages ago nor am I an indie purist.

Some shit will for sure Al. Don't think Hipsway is hip among the glasto flock though.
I personally would like to see a headling act that really fucks them up as to how they show sway or dance or wave their flags to.

Oh dear Al you are again failing your high ideals. Glasto is crap. Trooping the colour no damn different than glasto. So yo are happy to see Burt Bacharach as a headlining act at glasto but still want to decry trooping of the color. Fuck me put the Royal Marines Band on as a headlining act at glasto or the Military wives choir, perhaps that would be challenging to your average middle class glasto attending ignorant, sorry to see you defend glasto.

Ever been to a music festival Al?

Oh dear, so Burt Bacharach being high up the bill means every other act on the bill must be shit.   ::)

So when you go into a bookshop and see they're selling a Danielle Steel or Geoffrey Archer novel, you conclude that all the other books in that shop must also be crap!

Fine logic there.

The Q13 politburo decrees.

1) All items, except those enjoyed by comrade Q13, which have connections with capital and the bourgeoisie should be scorned by the true socialist
2) All commercial activity except making black 12" or 7" discs from petrochemicals must be seen as counter revolutionary and the tools of the enemies of the revolution
3) All people skinny jeans and having beards are hipsters and as such are a liability to the true people's struggle
4) All bands that play Glasto are bourgeois co-conspirators in the oppression of the people.  Hipsway, having not played Glastonbury, are on the Q13 politburo approved list of artists you may like.

It never ceases to amaze me how out of step with people I am, in terms of tastes. It's good to see some KW haters here, because I was under the impression everyone thought he sun shone out of his arsehole.

He is a cretinous overrated semi talent. I hate his music. I hate his persona and I hate this shit fucking rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. I was considering going to Glastonbury one year, but if this is the kind of shit they put on - just to be ooohh "controversial" -  I'll save my money, buy some weed with it and watch the hi-lights of the one or two good acts they put on among this plethora of gobshites, at home on the TV.

Motorhead and Suede sounded ok to my ears. Everything else I saw was bollocks. I can take about ten minutes of Florence before that womans voice makes me want to drown people.

Take that impressive band away from Paloma Faith and what are you actually left with?...seriously..?
