How terribly sad. I hope he has found the peace he must have so desperately wanted.
My thoughts go to his family and friends at this terribly sad time.

Thankyou for your life Robin, it touched mine.

I heard late last night, terrible news.

He had been suffering severe depression, his last tweet was about his daughters birthday too.

Actually, he never rocked my boat at all, though I did see him live when he did a Princes Trust benefit a couple of years ago.

What a weird thing depression is. He couldn't have wanted for anything - which I appreciate, is not relevant to the illness.

Social media seems to have gone into full on 'Diana' Level 5 grief mode & hyperbole...

If suicide - I hope there's no knock on effect where other people are encouraged to do the same. Sometimes its even members of the person's family. But he's a celeb so there are a lot of people it could influence to think on the same lines.

Unless you're in physical pain with a terminal illness or something, suicide is a very selfish act. There's always someone who cares who you're dumping on big time.

Why does the death of an actor assume  such grandiose importance  in all the News media?
Same with that American bloke who was in 'The Talented Mr. Ripely' who passed away  recently.
With all that's going on in the World right now, I wonder if it's a bit sort of offensive to the millions suffering in Syria and Gaza right now.
A sense of proportion is needed.

RIP Robin.

Whilst I won't be lining the street as his funeral car passes, I have to say I feel Robin Williams' death more than I ever did Diana's.

Could never understand the level of grief over Diana.

How do you grieve for someone you don't know?
Smacks of North Korea to me.
