The League of Gentlemen returns
« on: November 28, 2017, 01:30:40 PM »
The League of Gentlemen is set to return to our screens, more than a decade after the third and final series ended, for three Christmas specials.

I'm wondering if certain characters in the show will stand up in todays hyper-sensitive, easily triggered social media culture. Specifically, Barbara, a taxi driver under going 'gender affirmation' surgery, and carnival ringmaster Papa Lazarou who was 'blacked up' Not to mention Mickey, the 'village idiot' and Pauline the job centre matriarch and predatory lesbian.

Pemberton & co have anticpated some reaction, but stand by the characters. Hopefully people will enjoy it for what it is.
