"The BBC wants to track your physical location"

..apparently, when I log onto their news site, using IE12 at work.

I'm sure they do want to track and monitor me, but they can stick that up their arses, creepy cunts.

I suspect it's no more sinister than wanting to give you relevant local news!

Surely the IP address for your connection would be enough to roughly locate a service user?

Basically it probably tracks what links you click on and tries to determine any trends. For example, do I click disproportionately on links to articles about feminism or diversity; two perenial favourite topics of the BBC. Do I only ever look at the weather or sport, or do I seem disconcertingly over interested in articles on Islamic terror or UKIP/nationalist issues, in wich case they could put my on a watch list, and give my name to the authorities should 'anything happen'

 ;)
