Ahh, the Putinbots have done their job well.  What about Hillary's emails?  MSM spent 9 months looking at Hillary's emails.  What have they found?  Nothing.

In the meantime. We got a tax avoiding groper whom day by day, looks like he did collude with the Russians.

Its started here.
Pulling down statues, that is.

It's the latest trend pushed by the 'liberalista' Erasing history.

I can understand these characters being deemed divisive and offensive in a modern context, but this is history. It happened. Get the fuck over it. Do we stop teaching history to kids if we find it unpalatable in a modern context? I'm not sure where this is going to stop. I think our covilization needs a reset.

I do find a lot of the people who are arguing for this are those who have no connection to this country or it's history.

It seems because they have no statues of their own they are 'offended' other people do (you'll note they always recommend replacing them with statues they would like).

Sad but there you go.

Everyone's basically a self obsessed c**t. That's the way it is, mate.

Elvis allegedly once proclaimed that the only thing ni**ers were good for was buying his records and shining his shoes. Let's ban anything to do with Elvis.

:) I remember having a similar conversation with someone when the 'Rhodes must fall' was in the news.  They suggested we should replace it with someone like Gandhi and then they found themselves defending his racist opinions using the same arguments those who were defending the Rhodes statue.

But they couldn't see the similarities :)

But none of those I was talking to had ties to this country and some were only here temporarily as students yet still wanted to replace them with statues THEY approved of.

The is a very very very interesting observation.

From which countries do you have to come from to have NO CONNECTION WITH THIS COUNTRY or its HISTORY?

Afghanistan?, Iraq?, Palestine?, Yemen?, North and South Korea?, Israel?, All the Commonwealth?, France?, Germany?, Poland?, Czechoslovakia as was? Russia?, Iran? Egypt? etc etc etc

Do tell which particular nationalities fall into the category you devised and are basing your prejudice idea on.

You do know SOMETHING ABOUT OUR HISTORY don't you?

I think the Confederate statues in the States are very revealing of  US history and tell a tale that should be told and learnt. A good reason not to remove them? Perhaps. And of course the provocation and the risk of inflaming an already horrible situation is another if one is of a peaceable, conciliatory nature. One needs to learn history not try and erase it or fake it.

Putting up statues like that during periods of pressure not to be so racist tells its own tale.

As to when many statues were put up

Eh?
'How very British'
Is that an acknowledgement of 'Britishness' as opposed to ...whatever?
