Ok, now ive made a Flickr account, thought id show off some of my work.  In these sets of photo's, ive been colour correcting (using an old version of photoshop).  Raw original one first, followed by the colour corrected one.

These ones here were taken earlier in the year when the south west of england had 3 days of continous fog.

Sometimes you just get that 6th sense to know when a photo should be in black and white

A few years ago we had a big red full moon. The only way i could get a photo of it without it just looking like a big flashlight in the sky, was to turn the exposure down on my camera all the way

Tal Y Llyn north wales.....if u ever had windows 7 and turned your wallpaper theme to The best of the UK, you would have occasionally of seen this photo.  Below that photo is my version of it.  I tried to stand in exactly the same position the original photographer did, but a fair bit of a bush is there now.

Another shot of Tal Y Lynn from a different angle.  I used paint shop pro to edit out the buoy that was in the lake.   When i looked at this photo i thought to myself "this would make a great album front cover for a black metal band"   So with specialised font, i decided to make up a name for a fictional black metal band and overlay it on the photo.   Whats written is "Lake of Sorrow" in welsh lol.

Another colour corrected photo.  First the original raw version, the below that is the colour corrected version.  Its a waterfall in Brecon Beacons south wales.   I achieved this colour by opening it up in photoshop, turned the saturation down, and made a saved copy of that.  Then opened that copy up, added lots of green, toned the red down a bit and up'ed the saturation.......i think? lol.   Now it looks more like a waterfall in a fantasy movie.

The photobucket, I have no idea what they are talking about. I think you are just trying to do it the wrong way.

What the hell????, what a piece of crap photobucket has turned into then since i last used it nearly 10 years ago.   Ive looked into this and in order to be able to update my account so that i can have my photos appear on a third party site (which was always the fricken point in having a photobucket account!!!) ive gotta pay them $399 a year???, screw that and screw them!!!!.   What a waste of my time all that was then in making an account there and uploading the photos there.

How do you display yours on here then Q?.  Please dont say "by my facebook account" because i dont have one of them now and do want to make one again

What you need to do Guz is clean out your PB account delete tons of stuff, then it may let you copy and paste the url of your photo. Otherwise FB is an alternative just set up a fake name account.

I give up with photobucket now, they obviously decided to get too money hungry in the end.  Ive created a flickr account instead, now the pics should be showing

Call me melancholy if you like, but i actually like photo's like these

DSCF2365 (bcolour corrected) by rob s, on Flickr

This pic here i took when at a really high altitude in Snowdonia.  It was a rather dull overcasted day, so when i got this high up, it became all misty.  With colour correction in photoshop, it now looks more like a scene in Silent Hill i think lol.

I like it when i can go to a place like this and it looks like i could be somewhere else in the world.   Here it looks like i could be in northern usa or in Canada, but im actually in North Wales lol.

This photo here is of road that runs through the northern part of The New Forrest.   I sensed that it would look good if i made it black and white.  I also cropped the photo so that it would take on a more 2:21 ratio looking shape making it look more like a scene from a movie

Good work.

I saw a YT vid about aspect ratios the other day.

! No longer available

That isn't it but it is still interesting and if you are interested in such things it is worth a moment or two of your time. If I can remember/find the right one I'll pop it up in due course.

It is amazing how subtly and effectively we can be manipulated which, of course, is what Cinema and, I suppose, photography is all about.
