I think the best way in for him would be TMS.

Mrs B quite likes listening to TMS and she doesn't like watching cricket at all.

Q likes Top Gear's banter and they're only amateurs in the banter stakes compared to Aggers and co.

I love TMS.I flirted with Talksport 2 but after 10 mins...I was back...Nothing will beat TMS. I love live radio comms.

Vic Marks, Tuffers, Aggers and co are ab fab.

Aggers and Sir Geoffrey are the best double act since Laurel and Hardy and the nice thing is that it is all done with huge and obvious affection.

Rather like the touch of the rascal that Tuffers and Swanny bring to the show, too.

Wonderful stuff. The day when the last test match finishes is always one of the saddest of the year. Not only is there no more TMS but bloody winter looms...

But they do tour overseas with TMS. So...there's hope :)

Blowers. He was commentating when Broad got his Trent Bridge hat-trick and I feared that he was going to literally combust with excitement. I have it on good authority that he's a complete ass in the real world but he is another fantastic presence in the box.

Vaughan also shows a shrewd eye for detail. Never misses anything whether it be an unusual grip on a bat handle or a Pink Panther in the crowd. He's different gravy and it is no surprise that he was such a good captain.

Pakistan are the rock 'n' roll cricket nation. Every side they've put out for years is insanely talented and yet they are sometimes abject in defeat.

They're just completely unpredictable.

One thing is certain though: if it ends up being India v Pakistan in the final it'll be quite an occasion.

Going off topic here completely... Years ago I worked in a factory and one of the ingredients we used was guar gum. Guar gum is a brown powder that absorbs water and becomes very slimy (sort of like wallpaper paste); it is used as a thickener and a gelling agent. Anyway we used to import loads of the stuff from India. On occasion we used to export raw materials too, which was always a nice little overtime job, and on one occasion we had to export Guar Gum to Pakistan: basically we had to repack it so that there was no indication that it was Indian in origin (which on reflection sounds very dubious but there you are) because the Pakistanis hated the Indians so much they wouldn't trade with one another. I hate to think how much money this cost them. We probably bought the guar gum for about 4p/ton and sold it for 4/oz and charged for shipping too. Crazy.

The SA test series has begun at a blazing hot Lord's.

We won the toss and elected to bat.

24-2 so far with some top quality seam bowling from the Saffer's Philander winkling out Cook and Jennings.

Wimbledon? No. Not into it. The sport is OK but the crowds are sooooooo twee. Daily Mail readers to the last one. Makes it unbearable.

I've been dipping in and out of the cricket, as you do. Can't say I am a fan of the Sky team covering it. They suck the life out of it.

The Channel 5 highlights show is just about bearable.
